12 December 2022, Europahuset
Executive Summary
On Monday, we had the pleasure of discussing Denmark’s role in the European Union with excellent guests in "Europe house" in Copenhagen. We were joined by Steen Gade, who is a former member of the Danish Parliament with a long history of working on EU and climate policy. Moreover, Steen Gade played a central role during the 1992 Maastricht Treaty drama, which led to two referenda and the creation of Four Danish opt-outs. Our second guest was Peter Nedergaard, professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen. Peter Nedergaard has conducted extensive research on a range of EU policies, institutions and more. During the discussion, excellent perspectives were shared about Denmark's potential to play a key and progressive role in the region, comparative dynamics of european integration and much more. Thanks you for the great interest from speakers and audience alike.
